  • Peñate told The London Times March 28, 2009 that he wrote this song after being "a naughty boy." The singer-songwriter explained that he had staying up partying for so long that "the clock said 4 o'clock and I had no idea which four it was - no clue whatsoever!"
  • Peñate's maternal grandfather is the author and illustrator Mervyn Peake, who is best known for writing the Gormenghast series of novels.
  • Peñate told the NME June 27, 2009 that this song, "is very much about maybe having too much fun. Fun can be addictive, when things don't really seem to matter or be understood."
  • Jordanian vocalist Ayah Marar provides vocals on the song's chorus. The singer has also collaborated with Scottish electronica musician Calvin Harris, including two tracks from his 2009 album Ready For The Weekend. She explained to Altsounds how she hooked up with Peñate: "It was actually the connection between my manager and Paul Epworth, the producer. They have known each other for some time and Paul was keen to get me involved so it all went from there and I ended up in a studio with Jack, Paul and Florence to record the track."
