  • Jade LeMac is a half-Asian singer-songwriter from Canada. Her music ranges from slow dark ballads to airy pop songs.
  • She was born and raised in a tight-knit, multicultural family in Victoria on the southern tip of Vancouver Island before later moving to the city of Vancouver.
  • Growing up, music was a constant presence in Jade's life. Although no one in her family played instruments, they were always found singing together, especially during lively karaoke sessions with her cousins.
  • LeMac started writing her own songs by the time she was in middle school.

"I had a couple years of singing lessons here and there during middle school, and I really enjoyed it, however life got busy and I just didn't have the time to put toward it," she told Illustrate magazine. "But I think it really helped develop a basic knowledge of my vocal mechanics. With piano and guitar, I am completely self-taught and just use the instruments as a tool to help me write my songs."
  • At age 14, she provided vocals for a couple of dance singles produced by the electronic label Monstercat.
  • Her debut single, "Constellations," was released in August 2021 and went viral on Spotify.
  • She signed with Arista Records in 2023 and released her first EP, also titled Constellations.
  • LeMac is part of the LGBTQ+ community and often discusses her sexuality on social media. She was featured in 2022 on GLAAD's "20 Under 20" list of "Outstanding Young LGBTQ Changemakers."

"I've always been very open with my sexuality, and once I got comfortable, I began incorporating it into my music," LeMac told Metal Magazine. "Sometimes, it is very obvious, but sometimes I make it a little more subtle so that it's open to interpretation and more people can relate, no matter the gender or sexuality. I think by doing that, I can express who I am and what I am feeling, and leave room for other people to resonate with it."
  • Her go-to order at Starbucks is a Peach Green Tea Lemonade, half-sweet with light ice.
