Songfacts®:

  • Women + Country finds breakout alt-country singer Neko Case and her vocal partner Kelly Hogan contributing harmony vocals on eight of the album's tracks. The latter is employed as a full-time member of Case's backing band and the pair recorded their vocals during an intense two-day session in Los Angeles. On this pensive ballad Dylan and Case come close to a duet. "Neko's a huge character," Dylan told Billboard magazine, "she and Kelly add a huge personality to the record."
