  • "Cowboys and Plowboys" is a lively, honky-tonk tribute to all those cowboys and farmers out there. Jon Pardi and Luke Bryan team up, each taking a turn to shine a spotlight on the unique traits and shared qualities that unite these rugged folks.
  • Pardi steps into the boots of the cowboy while Bryan embodies the spirit of a plowboy. They sing about their contrasts in the verses but lock arms in the chorus, raising a toast to the common ground that binds them tight.

"It's a fun song about two jobs that have a lot of the same thing, and it's kind of an anthem," said Pardi. "So, I'm pretty excited about it. Two things I do like is cowboying and farming and all that good stuff. So, it's definitely a song that Luke Bryan and I needed to sing."
  • Though they are labelmates and good buddies, this is the first time Pardi and Bryan have collaborated on a record.
  • Pardi has said that he has always felt a connection to the cowboy lifestyle. The country star is frequently seen sporting cowboy hats and boots, and he's even penned songs dedicated to cowboys, such as "Cowboy Hat" and "Ain't Always the Cowboy."
  • Luke Bryan was born and raised on a peanut farm in Leesburg, Georgia. He's stated that he learned the value of hard work and dedication from his parents, who were both farmers. The man behind the hit track "Kick The Dust Up" not only owns his own farm in Tennessee but relishes the time he spends there, finding it keeps him down-to-earth.

Bryan wears his farming pride like a badge, championing the agricultural community. He's not just talk: His annual Farm Tour concerts unfold on real working farms across the US. This barnstorming tradition, which began in 2009, has blossomed into a beloved event, drawing fans from all corners of the country. The proceeds from these concerts go right back to the people who put food on our tables. Bryan's Farm Tour supports charities and creates scholarships, giving students from farming families a chance to attend local community colleges.

In 2016, Bryan released the song "Here's to the Farmer," a tribute to farmers and the important role they play in society.
  • Rhett Akins, Cole Taylor and Jacob Rice wrote the song. Akins is one of Pardi's go-to songwriting partners; their previous collaborations include "Tequila Little Time" and "Workin' on a New One." Akins also co-penned with Ashley Gorley Pardi's hit song "Dirt on My Boots."
  • Pardi told Taste Of Country's Evan Paul he feels it's important to seek songs from outside writers when putting together an album. "Rhett Akins is a writer on it, and Rhett's like both great friends with me and Luke," he explained. "He was like (to Luke) 'Man, you and Pardi gotta sing this song, man.'"

With Akins' encouragement ringing in their ears, Pardi and Bryan didn't want to let this golden opportunity slip through their fingers.

"I remember hearing it for the first time 'cause Rhett Akins sent it to me and said, 'You and Luke need to record this song,'" said Pardi. "Luke called me like an hour later was like, 'We gonna do this song, man?' And it was just perfect. He comes from a farming background. I come from a farming/cowboys kind of lifestyle all the time now. It's just perfect for me and him to sing together."
  • Shaun Silva directed the video, which was shot on a farm outside Nashville and in California. Some of the Rodeo Champions featured in the visual are Kyle Lockett, Bert McGill, Dallas Owen, Dakota Eldridge, Jordan Ketscher, Shelby Cole, Jaylee McGill and Wayce McGill.

Both singers also brought their leading ladies into the spotlight. Bryan and his wife Caroline Boyer share a sweet moment, cuddling in a field while watching the sunset. Pardi takes a spin with his wife Summer on the dance floor in one scene, and in another he's holding his nearly one-year-old daughter Presley as they ride horseback together.
