Songfacts®:

  • This is the follow-up to "You Raise Me Up," and it's just as inspirational. It seems to be about mourning the death of a loved one, perhaps one who died in a flood. But the references to rain may refer to mourning.
  • Groban performed this in 2004 at the American Music Awards. The song helped Closer become a #1 album. >>>

  • Groban released a live recording of the song from his 2013 concert tour as a single. This version is a duet with Judith Hill who rehearsed to sing with Michael Jackson on his ill-fated intended This Is It concert tour. She also was a contestant on the fourth season of The Voice, reaching the Top 8.

  • Logan from Port Huron, MiI think you have it wrong. Josh is VERY shy off stage. Some might see that as 'stuck up'. He does unbelievble stuff for underpriveledged people and has a huge heart for the African people. If you ever watch an interview, you will see him look down everytime someone gives him compliment. He has a hard time taking them.
  • Mercedies from Soldotna, AkI love this man's voice. He's a little stuck up though. Like he's the best and he knows it. He's a great guy though and has an amazing voice. I loved it when he surprised Michael Buble at his first PBS special. That was hilarious!!
