  • Justice are a French electronic duo whose thunderous mix of disco, heavy metal, and church-organ electro made them one of the defining acts of the 2000s Parisian dance scene. Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay started out as graphic designers who approached music making like a visual design project. By pairing crunching basslines with stadium-rock swagger, they showed a generation of laptop producers that a dance record could hit with the wallop of a live rock band.
  • Justice's career kicked off with a failed contest submission. They created a remix of Simian's "Never Be Alone" for a radio competition and lost, but the track caught the ear of Pedro Winter, Daft Punk's former manager, who was launching Ed Banger Records. He put out the track as the label's second release, and it quickly became an anthem under the title "We Are Your Friends."
  • Their official debut single, 2005's "Waters of Nazareth," met with a cold reception. Xavier de Rosnay joked to Grammy.com how the track was their "first commercial suicide." Its heavily distorted sound was so abrasive that stage techs at early festival gigs would rush onstage when it played, convinced the PA system was blowing out or plugged in wrong.
  • Before releasing their full-length debut, Justice built a massive buzz remixing tracks for high-profile artists like Britney Spears, Daft Punk, Franz Ferdinand, Fatboy Slim, N.E.R.D., and Death from Above 1979. Their 2007 debut album, Cross, became a global hit, reaching #11 on the French charts and topping both the UK and US dance listings thanks to signature tracks like "D.A.N.C.E.."
  • Justice's reworking of MGMT's "Electric Feel" earned them the Grammy for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical, in 2009. A decade later, Justice took home the 2019 Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album with Woman Worldwide, an album where they reimagined and mashed up live versions of their own material from their album Woman.

Justice returned to the Grammys in 2025 when "Neverender," their collaboration with Tame Impala, won Best Dance/Electronic Recording. Its parent album, Hyperdrama, was also nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
  • In October 2026, the duo scored another milestone when they were named composers for the official score of Grand Theft Auto VI, and supplied its theme song, "Flower In A Hurricane."
