The tension-fraught recording of The Moody Blues' Seventh Sojourn
album and subsequent world tour had left the band exhausted and relationships frayed. Singer-guitarist Justin Hayward
and bass guitarist John Lodge recorded the Blue Jays
album during the five-year hiatus. This song was released as the lead single from the LP. Hayward recalled to ZigZag
magazine December 1976: "It was an easy track to write and an easy track to record - one take. It took about an hour to write, actually."
