Songfacts®:

  • As a kid in Washington, DC, Kanii played around with recording software and discovered his singing talent. Mixing club beats, catchy pop tunes, and electronic music, he wowed fans worldwide on TikTok. Kanii's fame on the platform exploded with "Attachment," a song used in over 70,000 videos, making him a hot commodity. Masked Gorilla founder Roger Gengo was also a fan and signed Kanii to his label. "I Know" is his first single released via Masked Records/Warner Records.
  • Kanii's song paints a picture of him in agony. "Don't like the feeling of being ignored," he croons, feeling sorry for himself because his lover is giving him the cold shoulder. The guy's got some serious groveling to do, as he knows he's messed up their relationship.
  • Kanii took charge of writing, mastering, and mixing the track himself. Skuna's production adds a thumping bass, heavenly synths, and choir samples. Skuna, who comes from the Le Blosne district in Rennes and has Angolan and Congolese roots, works with the Rennes-based group Columbine.
