Songfacts®:

  • On this song, West sings from the perspective of a woman breaking up with her man. Like most of the other tracks on 808s & Heartbreak this was very much influenced by the ending of his 18-month engagement to the designer Alexis Phifer.
  • During an album listening session, West told the audience that this track is his favorite from the album. The Chicago artist added that when making this track, he was in his zone, like Jay-Z would be.
  • West created the piano arrangement himself.
