I've Got a Secret

Album: My Best Friend is You (2010)

  • Nash and her producer, former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, crafted this deceivingly upbeat song about coming out of the closet. "Someone close to me was going through that recently, and it was a stressful situation," she told Rolling Stone. "It's sad that someone would have to defend themselves for being gay in 2010."
  • Nash also plays drums on this song.
  • Nash told The NME: "It's one of my favorite songs on the record because it's quite weird - I wrote it on the drums, so I wasn't restricted by melody."
