Songfacts®:

  • This contemplative track was released as the second single released by Los Angeles-based electro-pop trio LANY (pronounced Lay-nee). The group's name is an acronym for Los Angeles, New York.
  • The song finds frontman Paul Klein singing about battling the temptation to rekindle a past relationship. He explained:

"It's about that exact back and forth emotion. like… 'Wow I miss you and what we had was pretty amazing and actually how did this not work out and yeah this hurts a ton and sometimes kinda a lot of times I wanna call you and try again' but then I'm like, 'No I can't I just can't'... ya know? that kind of feeling."
  • LANY dropped "Yea, Babe, No Way" and five other tracks by surprise on June 24, 2016. The songs were later bundled as an EP titled Kinda. During their 2016 Kinda Tour they sold the EP in vinyl.
