Songfacts®:

  • This track finds Wayne celebrating the rewards of his hard work in both physical and career matters over Boi-1da and Vinylz's somber piano beat. Drake jumps in for a verse in which he name drops '50s French movie icon Bridget Bardot. The same foursome also teamed up for another Tha Carter V track "Believe Me."
  • The song was debuted during the first leg of a joint American tour by Wayne and Drake at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center near Buffalo, New York on August 8, 2014. During one segment of the show the two Young Money rappers battled each other as the crowd used a specially-released app to determine who wins the night.
  • Grinding is just another way of saying hustling. Other songs with the same or similar title include Clipse's 2002 hit single "Grindin" and Asher Roth's 2010 cut "G.R.I.N.D (Get Ready It's a New Day)."
