Songfacts®:

  • "Honey (Are U Coming?)" is a sizzling love anthem where frontman Damiano David craves a passionate rendezvous.

Meet me there where it never closes
Meet me there where it's never hopeless
All is fair in love, oh-oh-oh
    Honey, are you coming?
  • David extends a fiery invitation for a wild night on the town.

Before I found this place I was feeling so blue
But then it turned me out, let it do it to you
It's not a one-night stand if it turns into two

He's looking for a physical connection that ignites into something more.
  • The song isn't based on romance; it's a full-blown escapade. "It talks about the feeling of meeting someone and discovering the same sadness and feeling out of place in their eyes, just to invite them towards an unknown adventure together," David said on Spotify's Storyline. "No one knows what is going to happen, but the ride is the ultimate important bit to enjoy."
  • The band members wrote "Honey (Are U Coming?)" with songwriters Justin Tranter, Jussifer and Cxloe and producers Rami Yacoub and Sylvester Sivertsen after their North American tour. "We still had a lot of energy from the touring and the traveling," bassist Victoria DeAngelis explained. "We wrote it in between London and LA."

American songwriter Justin Tranter, Swedish producer Rami Yacoub and Danish songwriter and producer Sylvester "Sly" Sivertsen worked on multiple tracks on Måneskin's 2023 album Rush! Including "Supermodel" and "Timezone."

Finnish-American producer and songwriter Jussi "Jussifer" Karvinen has also worked with Bebe Rexha ("I'm a Mess") and Jojo ("FAB.").

Chloe "Cxloe" Papandrea is an Australian pop singer from Sydney, New South Wales. Her most successful single, "I Can't Have Nice Things," peaked at #18 in New Zealand in 2019.
  • Musically, "Honey" detours from Måneskin's usual vibe, contrasting between the melancholic parts and the song's high-octane, dance energy through a lot of minor riffs and chords. "This musical contrast talks about the inner fear of the unknown and the need of adventure and discovering something new," explained the band. "These feelings are connected to the idea of bringing someone special into a new and magical meeting place, of hope and salvation."
  • Director Tommaso Ottomano shot the video in the Gazometro, a decommissioned gasholder in the band's home of Rome.
  • Måneskin rocked up the MTV Video Music Awards in 2023, where they performed this song. "The Loneliest" took the award for Best Rock at the ceremony.
