Songfacts®:

  • This sweet, sad song featuring country trio Lady Antebellum came together in a single day in Switzerland. Maroon 5 keyboardist Jesse Carmichael told Rolling Stone: "We're excited for a lot of new people to hear our band through that song."
  • Lady Antebellum (later known as Lady A) were one of the hottest acts in country music at the time, best known for their 2009 hit "Need You Now." Teaming them with Maroon 5 seemed like a good way to expand the fanbases of both groups, but neither act really had time to promote the song, and it stalled at #103. Notice that in the music video neither band appear - it's just actors lip-synching to the song.
  • "Out Of Goodbyes" was part of Maroon 5's third album, Hands All Over, which had a superstar producer at the helm: Mutt Lange, whose credits include Def Leppard's Pyromania and Shania Twain's Come On Over.
