Songfacts®:

  • Martina wrote this cut with an island feel with Nashville songsmiths Hillary Lindsey and Brett James. Speaking to The Boot she explained the trio set out "to write something that was just fun," and "something you can play the ukulele on."

Martina continued: "We came up with a fun love story about two people who face the world who don't think they're going to make it, but they're so strong, so they will. Always be this way ... let's not change or let the world change us."
  • The song was loosely inspired by Train's "Hey Soul Sister," and Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours."
