Songfacts®:

  • The lead single from Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Matthew West's fifth studio album, Into The Light, was inspired by Renee, the mother of a 20-year-old daughter who was killed by a drunk driver. Renee was not only able to forgive her daughter's killer after visiting him in prison, but fought to get his 22-year sentence reduced, so that he could join her speaking around the country on the dangers of drunk driving.
