This is Dagenham native Neo Soul singer McLean's first major label single. He first emerged in 2006 with "Broken," which has since received over 5 million hits on Youtube and 20 million plays on MySpace.
Originally produced by LA producers Slick and Magic in London, this song was completed in Los Angeles by Dylan '3D' Dresdow, the producer behind Black Eyed Peas' hits "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling."
McLean told 4Music's Colin Gentry: "It's about that special someone who you want to spend your life with and give your name to. It's a big R&B song."
McLean is brother to the footballer Aaron McLean, and cousin to '90s pop sensation Bitty McLean.
"Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who is about a revolution, but it doesn't have a happy ending, since in the end the new regime becomes just like the old one. Pete Townshend thought that whoever was in power was destined to become corrupt.
