Songfacts®:

  • Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine penned this song with TH1RT3EN producer Johnny K, who has previously worked with Disturbed, Machine Head and Staind. Speaking to MusicRadar.com, bassist Dave Ellefson commented: "This song is like riff-mania. Dave has a great ability to write a fantastic array of riffs, and he's a master at compiling them to create a song. He writes a riff, then he writes another riff, and when you think he can't come up with another one, he does so – and then he puts them all together. Anybody who loves amazing Megadeth riffs will really be into We The People. It's a total explosion of great parts."
  • "We The People" was the opening words of the preamble to the Constitution of the United States: "We the People of the United States… do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." The phrase has been subsequently been used by:

    1) Organizations We the People Foundation is a tax-protest organization.

    2) Bands: We the People was an Orlando, Florida based garage rock band from the 1960s.

    3) Television Series: We The People is an award winning discussion based current affairs television show in India.
