  • Mimi Webb - real name Amelia Webb - is a singer-songwriter from Canterbury, Kent. A graduate of the renowned Brighton Institute of Modern Music (fellow alumni Tom Odell and James Bay), her breakthrough came in 2020 when TikTok superstar Charli D’Amelio used Webb's anthem "Before I Go" in two of her videos, generating over 85 million views. This song became her first single to reach the UK chart when it debuted at #17 on the listing dated April 4, 2021.
  • Webb wrote the song based on a personal experience about getting over a toxic relationship. She explained in a video it came from a raw time in her life. "For a long long time I was back and forth can against myself thinking I was the one to blame for the problems in my relationship," Webb said. "I had done everything wrong until one day I did just wake up and it clicked in that you know I don't need that and I'm actually the one that hasn't done anything wrong and I need to start living my life for me instead of that other person."
  • Mimi Webb penned the tune alongside its Swiss producer, Fridolin "Freedo" Walcher (Zara Larsson's "Lush Life"), and Sam Merrifield (JC Stewart's "Like I Did").
  • Webb starts off "Good Without" by explaining the unhappy background to the song.

The last year's been like hell
Guess I'm lonely thinkin' that you ain't moved on
And I'm sorry if I'm comin' off too strong

At the end of the chorus, Webb gets to the part where she says straight up what she's feeling.

And now I'm looking at the ceilin'
Wonderin' just what you're feelin' now
    If that's what love's about
    Then I'm so good without

Webb said she and the other two writers built the whole song around that lyric as "it's such a powerful moment."

She added: "It really was a song I wanted to write for a long time but I haven't been able to and I think now being in the place I'm in, I'm in a really great happy place. I'm able to reflect and look back on those times where I had that whole situation going on. It's really just that realization of waking up in the morning and my life is great without the toxic relationship or friendship that you're in and that you have around you, you're surrounded by it."
  • Webb regrets not having written the song earlier when she was in the midst of her turmoil, saying, "It would have helped me a lot I would have got out of the mess a lot faster than I did back then."

Webb added that it's a tune for anyone going through similar experiences so they can "feel the strength from the song and feel able to get out of the mess they're in, which now it's really helped me do."
