This features Manda, an aspiring French singer. Her dream was to sing with Morcheeba and she contacted the band about collaborating via MySpace. Manda also features on "Flowers" and "Au Dela" on the same album. DJ Paul Godfrey on the band's website said: "Ross and I wrote this really quickly. It's about succeeding in every way and still feeling like there is something missing. When Manda put her voice to it, it sounded really bittersweet."
The Prince-penned "Manic Monday" was the first song The Bangles heard coming from a car radio, but "Eternal Flame" is closest to Susanna's heart, perhaps because she sang it in "various states of undress."
