Songfacts®:

  • Isolation and anger are themes of this song, which makes reference to a famous Dutch painter and the hero from Star Wars in the line "Rembrandt as my right hand and Solo as my pilot."

What does it all mean? In out interview with Mushroomhead's growler J-Mann, he declined to say. "I like to leave it up to the listener," he said. "I try to leave a few riddles in there to where as time goes on, maybe as the listener grows or changes in their life, they can find something new in an old song."
  • This was the first Mushroomhead song released on a major label. The band issued three independent albums before signing to Universal and releasing XX. "Solitaire/Unraveling" was also the first song they made a proper video for.
