Songfacts®:

  • Shahid Khan is a British producer and rapper, who started out his music career recording songs in his parents' garden shed. After obtaining a grant from The Prince's Trust and winning £44,000 on Channel 4 daytime game show Deal or No Deal, Khan was able to upscale production to a studio in Ealing, West London. Soon after he launched himself as a record producer under the moniker "Naughty Boy."
  • This is Khan's debut single as a recording artist. It features vocals from his long time collaborator, Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé. They first started working together after they met when Sandé was doing a show in London for the 1Xtra radio station. Khan was trying at the time to build up his name as a producer and asked if she wanted to work with him on a few things. After co-penning Chipmunk's debut single, "Diamond Rings," which gave them both a first top 10 hit on the UK Singles Chart, the pair continued working together and collaborated on much of Sandé's debut album, Our Version of Events, including her hit single"Heaven."
