Songfacts®:

  • Ne-Yo penned this acoustic guitar-driven ballad about a break-up with Nashville songwriter Luke Laird. It features country star Tim McGraw, reciprocating Ne-Yo's appearance on the "Truck Yeah" singer's "Only Human" cut from his 2012 Emotional Traffic album. "I believe in the cross pollination of music," said Ne-Yo during a preview of McGraw's Two Lanes of Freedom album. "Luke definitely crossed R&B with country, and I wouldn't have done this song without Tim singing it with me."
McGraw preciously worked with an urban artist when he linked up with rapper Nelly on his 2004 hit ballad "Over and Over."
