  • Formed in Coral Springs, Florida, in 1997, New Found Glory were leading figures in the pop-punk resurgence of the late 1990s and early 2000s, alongside bands like Green Day, Offspring, and Blink-182.
  • New Found Glory recorded their 1997 debut EP, It's All About The Girls, with the indie label Fiddler. Fiddler ran from 1996 to 2006 and also helped launch Dashboard Confessional. The band switched to Eulogy for their first full-length album because they were naively impressed with European distribution.

"We could have done [Nothing Gold Can Stay] on Fiddler, which we talked about," lead guitarist Chad Gilbert told Alternative Press, "but locally at the time there was John Wylie, who played guitar in Morning Again and ran this label called Eulogy. As kids we were dumb and thought, 'Oh, he has all this distribution in Europe, as if that was, like, whatever...'"
  • Lead guitarist Chad Gilbert started performing in the hardcore band Shai Hulud when he was in eighth grade. Vocalist Jordan Pundik and rhythm guitarist Steve Klein encountered Gilbert at shows as fans. "The kids would come to our shows and I used to make fun of them," Gilbert told Alternative Press. "I was like 'who are these dorks?' They ended up being Jordan and Steve." Pundik and Klein had met in high school and bonded over being "geeks" and "weird."
  • Founding guitarist Steve Klein left the band in December 2013, shortly before news broke that he'd been arrested on various charges. He was convicted of indecent exposure and sentenced to two years of probation. Klein had been the band's main lyricist.
  • Before shows during the late 2000s, the band would often walk onstage unannounced while wearing superhero outfits. They'd play over-the-top, fast and aggressive hardcore punk songs with titles like "Screameo" and "Harry Potter's Hardcore," all incognito, long before the show was set to start. Eventually, fans figured out they were actually New Found Glory in disguise. The band took on the name International Superheroes of Hardcore and would book last-minute club shows under the Superheroes moniker, creating an interactive, living Easter egg hunt for fans.
  • Founding guitarist Chad Gilbert died from cancer on September 20, 2026. He was 45 years old. The band canceled their scheduled show at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, California, to grieve. They returned with a multi-night run at EPCOT's Eat to the Beat Concert Series later that month, using the shows to celebrate Gilbert's life. Gilbert had been a huge Disney fan and even had a custom Mickey Mouse guitar. He was the band's primary composer.
  • In February 2026, the band released their album Listen Up!. Gilbert wrote it while going through cancer treatment, and many lyrics chronicle his feelings. The album was intended to get people thinking about their lives and about life in general, and to help them find hope and courage through hard times.
