Album: False Priest (2010)
Play Video

Songfacts®:

  • This is a track from False Priest, the 10th full-length studio album by indie-pop group Of Montreal. The record marks the return of organic instruments for the group, with live drums, strings and pianos replacing the midi sounds and sequencers of previous albums.
  • Frontman Kevin Barnes described this to song to Spin magazine as, "abstract lyrically." He explained: "I'm thinking of William S. Burroughs a lot. I've only read Queer and Junky but somehow I feel like I've connected to what was inspiring him. It's very free form and I want the character that I invented, Georgie Fruit, to have balance with a slightly more intellectual influence. There needs to be duality."
