"Under the Graveyard" was Ozzy's first solo release since his Scream
album arrived in 2010. The seeds for this track and the rest of the Ordinary Man
album were sown by the veteran rocker's collaboration with Post Malone, "Take What You Want
." That tune was produced by Andrew Watt, who also took the helm for this song and much of the rest of the record. The producer bought in Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses to play bass and Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers for drums. Watt himself played the guitar.
"Duff and Chad came in and we would go in and jam during the day and I would go work out the songs in the evenings," Ozzy recalled of the Ordinary Man
recording process. "I previously had said to Sharon I should be doing an album, but in the back of my mind I was going, 'I haven't got the f---ing strength.' But Andrew pulled it out of me."
