Songfacts®:

  • Tillis spoke about the song in her Songfacts interview: "It's a song looking back on all the years and it's a reflective song. It's thinking back on being a kid and how you thought it was going to be one way and you just thought it was all going to be so easy and fun. It's not bad the way life ends up, it's just different."
  • Tillis recorded the album on her own, independent of any major record label. She found the experience creatively liberating, while also allowing her to try various novel, grassroots modes of marketing. She believes that word of mouth is a more natural way for music to become well known, and is more reflective of quality.
