Paul Weller: "It's one of the earliest tunes we did. People ask me whether I'd started listening to Curtis Mayfield or Chairman Of the Board again, but that music is in my blood. I'm always playing it. It's a double 'A' side on the first single." (Together with "Echoes Round the Sun.")
"(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding" was written by Nick Lowe in 1974. The original version with his group Brinsley Schwarz was kind of somber, but Elvis Costello made it a classic with his 1978 uptempo take.
