Songfacts®:

  • Florida native Pleasure P was originally a member of the teen heartthrob group Pretty Ricky. After the release of Pretty Ricky's sophomore album, Late Night Special, Pleasure P left the group. This song was his debut release as a solo artist.
  • Lyrically, this song is about taking responsibility when both parties are at fault in the relationship. Pleasure acknowledged this in publicity materials: "The easiest thing to do in a relationship is to leave. You gotta stick it out and work it out. How do you think your grandparents stayed together so long? In a relationship you got to put up with another person." He added: "I'm telling people that you shouldn't base your relationship off of people being wrong, because we're human and we make mistakes and that's the bottom line."
