Songfacts®:

  • This uplifting power ballad finds Pink fighting for a relationship that seems doomed. The song was inspired by Pink's marriage to retired Motocross star, Carey Hart, whom she has previously split from twice. She told The Sun in an October 2017 podcast:

"Being with the same person for a really long time - we're going on 16, 17 years now and we've grown up together - it's work. But it's beautiful, it's worth it, otherwise we wouldn't do it."

Pink added: "It just punches me in the stomach every time I hear it. My favorite line in that song is, 'I feel like our ship's going down tonight but you're the one I want to sink with.' Relationships are not cute. But they keep you busy."
  • Pink co-wrote this with the song's producers, Max Martin and Shellback. The Swedish hitmakers also contributed to her chart-topping Funhouse single, "So What," among other hits in her discography.
  • This is the third single from Pink's seventh studio album, Beautiful Trauma. The album was her second #1 in the US and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2019.
  • The music video, directed by Brad Comfort, consists of footage from the singer's various performances, including her Beautiful Trauma World Tour, her Super Bowl LII spot, and her appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2017 (where she sang a medley of hits from "Get The Party Started" to "What About Us").
