Songfacts®:

  • This song is the first single from German Industrial metal band Rammstein's sixth album, Liebe Ist Für Alle Da.
  • The song is a satirical take on German sex tourism and it features the German band singing overtly sexual lyrics in English.
  • The song's music video was helmed by renowned Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund, whose resume includes videos for Madonna (five videos including the Grammy winning "Ray of Light" and "Celebration"), U2 ("Beautiful Day") and Lady Gaga ("Paparazzi"). Its hardcore pornographic content stirred up a lot of controversy and was banned by video sharing services. This did not prevent it becoming one of the most viewed music videos of the year.
  • This topped the singles charts in several European countries, including Germany and Finland.

  • Nemesis from Petaluma, CaThis is the first Rammstein release to be recorded in the USA. It was recorded at Sonoma Mountain Studios just East of Petaluma California. From my house I can actually see the studio about 3 miles away.
  • Diverdriver from Petaluma, CaJonas Akerlund also directed a movie called Spun. It had many stars in it including Rob Halford of Judas Priest. It was his debut movie appearance. He played a gay porn shop proprietor.
  • Christopher from Coweta, OkIt still amazes me that Wal-Mart is selling this album, uncensored, with that song and that cover.
