  • "That's Just Me" is Riley Green's contribution to the tears-in-my-beer country music canon, only in his case it's whiskey. The heartbroken singer wonders if his ex is suffering through their breakup the same way he is, drinking too much and replaying memories on sleepless nights. "But maybe that's just me," he admits.

Green wasn't really nursing a heartache when he wrote the song; it grew out of the title phrase, which he then used for the name of his 2026 album. He picked up a lot of colloquialisms from the old guys who hung around the general store in his Alabama hometown and they crept into his songs.

"I love songs that are sayings." he told the Off The Record podcast. "And I just thought, man, what better way to paint the whole picture of an album than saying, 'That's just me.' Because I am trying to do some things musically that are a little different. Not running from what got me here, but certainly trying to push my comfort zone a little bit to try new things musically."
