Songfacts®:

  • This unlikely collaboration finds Robbie Williams teaming up with the British heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury. The duo met in Las Vegas when Williams was in the Nevada city for his residency. Their duet was a result of a conversation in Fury's dressing room ahead of his fight with German boxer Tom Schwarz.

"In that moment it clicked in, I've seen him sing," said the singer of the Gypsy King. "He's a huge character, huge personality, got a great voice, and I asked him right there and then and he said yes... His voice has got gravel, grit and personality."
  • The song finds Williams and Fury celebrating debauched Christmas partying with "Sharon from the office," plus copious amounts of champagne, crackers and mistletoe. The song was recorded for the former Take That star's first festive album, Christmas Present. He explained to The Sun:

"I had an idea to do a birthday song, a New Year's song, a Valentine's song and a Christmas song. Then we came up with Bad Sharon and went with Christmas. Christmas songs are huge in America - Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Sia have all had Christmas hits, but it's not the same in the UK."
  • Robbie Williams wrote the song with his longtime co-writer and producer Guy Chambers.
  • Tyson Fury has form for public musical performances. He celebrated his upset victory on November 28, 2015 over Ukraine's Wladimir Klitschko by taking the mic. The newly-crowned heavyweight champion then crooned Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" to his wife, who had joined him in the ring.
