Songfacts®:

  • Rosa is a former member of Menudo who has written songs with his former band mate Ricky Martin. He wrote this with Itaal Shur, who was a member of The Groove Collective and wrote "Ascension" with Maxwell and "Smooth" with Rob Thomas. Shur told Songfacts: "That song was me and Robi jamming in a studio in LA on acoustic guitars making up stuff that sounded like Buena Vista Social Club. We both made up some really good melodies, then he split for like three hours to go pick up his kid, and I wrote all the lyrics while he was gone. He came back and said, 'Oh, I love them.'"
  • Shur wrote the lyrics in English. It was translated for the Spanish version and became "Mas Y Mas."
  • The Spanish version was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Song Of The Year, Record Of The year and Video Of The Year.
