Songfacts®:

  • "Get It Sexyy" finds Sexyy Red delivering a familiar barrage of irresistible catchy couplets. She dropped the track on March 15, 2024, just six weeks after giving birth to her second child. There's no maternal leave for the St. Louis rapper; she's hungry to grind.
  • Red's all about self-love, rocking that "slim thick" frame and flaunting her "caramel skin" while stacking those bills and filling up her Louis bag with bands. She isn't playing games when it comes to relationships, making it crystal clear she isn't checking for no man or new friends.

The title says it all – "Get It Sexyy" is all about owning her beauty and achievements, with lines like "Go on, Sexyy, do your dance" pumping up that self-confidence.
  • And let's talk beats – Tay Keith brings that heavy, churning vibe, just like he did on Red's bangers "Pound Town" and "SkeeYee."

Fresh off a trip from Memphis, Keith linked up with Sexyy Red in Miami with one goal: make a hit. He described to Billboard getting a special feeling when he first heard the chopped-up sample that became the foundation of the beat. "I knew exactly what I had to do with it," Keith said.

The feeling was mutual. As soon as the beat was done, Keith was telling everyone – Sexyy Red, her team – that this was a guaranteed banger. "I got a good ear for music," he said with a confident grin.

And he was right. Sexyy Red finished recording the song in St. Louis, and within a week and a half, "Get It Sexyy" was released. "It just went crazy," Keith recalled. "It was an organic moment."
