Songfacts®:

  • The listener's first impression is that this song is about a relationship, but it turns out the lyrics were inspired by the dedication and a drive that victorious sportsmen possess.

    We got something they don't
Fire burning deep in our bones
    Smokin' when we're away
On fire when we get home

Shania Twain explained to Rolling Stone: "I was sick in a hotel room and there was Major League Baseball going on just below the hotel in the dome. I was bummed out that I couldn't go there and enjoy the game, so I wrote this song about the winning team and what I would feel like and I just got into the spirit of the game. It's about feeling like a champion."
