  • Shed Seven is an alternative rock band that was formed in York, England in 1990. They were originally called Brockley Haven.
  • The band's name comes from a railway shed that the band members saw as their train pulled into York Station.
  • Shed Seven's sound is melodic alternative rock with catchy hooks and anthemic choruses. They were influenced by Britpop bands like Oasis and Blur but added their own distinctive sound with layered guitars and introspective lyrics.
  • At the height of their popularity between 1994 and 1999, Shed Seven had 15 Top 40 singles and four Top 20 albums in the UK. In 1996 they enjoyed more hit singles in the UK than any other rock band that year, with indie anthems "Getting Better," "On Standby," "Chasing Rainbows," "Bully Boy" and "Going For Gold."
  • By 2003 their popularity had dwindled, and the band officially broke up. They reformed for a greatest hits tour in July 2007 and continued to play shows around Britain periodically until releasing a new studio album in 2017 called Instant Pleasures. Its release coincided with the launch of the band's very own beer.
  • Shed Seven's sixth studio album, A Matter of Time, released on January 5, 2024, was the first #1 album of their career.
