Songfacts®:

  • Sleeping With Sirens' vocalist Kellin Quinn found himself struggling with depression and anxiety during the band's hectic touring schedule for their 2017 album. Writing for its follow-up record, the singer wanted to open up about the feelings of despair that had enveloped him. The title track finds him describing how when he got depressed, he felt like he was on his own and had to deal with it by himself.

Now I'm standing on the edge
With nowhere to go (To go)
This is how it feels, this is how it feels
    How it feels to be
    Lost, lost

Quinn explained to HMV: "Depression and anxiety make you feel lost. The goal of this record was to help people understand that just because you feel like you're by yourself, you don't have to be. Lots of people feel the same way. I wanted this record to help people and to give words to people who can't say how they're feeling."
  • The song's music video shows the band wandering through the Pacific Park amusement park, located on the Santa Monica Pier in Southern California.
