Whilst the song's lyrics are about the preciousness of childhood, the Vincent Haycock directed video tells the story of about a young girl escaping her tedious life in a post-Soviet small town. The main character is played by Chesca Miles, one of the UK's top female stunt riders, who's joined by a number of Germany's finest stunt bikers.
The three-day shoot featured some hiccups. According to the press release, the filming included, "two crashes, a wrecked bike, a near-death tank rattle, 12 burnt out tires, a broken whipped cream charger, and a near arrest after police caught producers filming a high speed tracking shot on the autobahn into Berlin at 4am."
Angus Young created the distinctive opening guitar part for "Thuderstruck" by playing with all the strings taped up, except the B. He learned the studio trick from his older brother George Young, who was the rhythm guitarist for The Easybeats.
"Pretty In Pink" by Psychedelic Furs was released in 1981. Five years later, it inspired a movie of the same name starring Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy and Jon Cryer. The song was remixed for the re-release to have more Pop appeal.
