Songfacts®:

  • Germany-born, Nigeria-raised, South London-based Strandz' rapping evokes classic New York hip-hop. His laid-back flow over turn-of-the-century production showcases the influence of 50 Cent and G-Unit. This rapper's take on the Bonnie and Clyde story became his first single to enter the UK singles chart.
  • This is a romantic song where Strandz and his girl face down the odds together. The rapper considers him and his sweetheart to be outlaws fighting against the hardships of the ghetto and brutality of the police. They are against the whole world, but united by love.
  • The song opens with a pitched-up sample of Smokey Robinson & The Miracles' 1970 number "Who's Gonna Take The Blame."
  • The video follows Strandz and his homies on a drive into the wilderness. Afterwards, he meets up with his partner in crime and the two of them go on the run together.
  • Strandz dropped a remix featuring a verse by Digga D on February 16, 2023. The new version came about really organically after Digga showed a lot of love for "Us Against The World." Originally, Strandz didn't want to feature anyone else, but once he started thinking about it, he decided Digga would be a good choice because he was already locked in. "I ended up reaching out to him," Strandz told Official Charts. "We were in the studio just after Christmas."
