  • Surfaces is a group based out of Texas comprising Colin Palecki, who handles writing and arrangements, and Forrest Frank on lead vocals and production. Colin's first cousin, Alexa Padalecki, supplies the female vocals when needed.
  • Sunday best is a term that refers to the tradition of saving one's finest clothing for Sunday church services. During this optimistic jam, Forrest Frank uses the fancy garments as a metaphor for being at your best.

Ayy, feeling good, like I should
Went and took a walk around the neighborhood
    Feeling blessed, never stressed
Got that sunshine on my Sunday best

Frank is saying is when you wake up in the morning, if you adopt a positive disposition and treat the day as a special occasion, you will be at your best.
  • The feel-good song reflects Surface's spiritual beliefs. "It's just something we believe in," said Frank. "These are things I've picked up through my faith, which is very real to me, but I don't want to preach. The lyrics are an expression of my heart."
  • Originally released on January 5, 2019, the ruthlessly upbeat song slowly gained momentum helped by a Super Bowl sync.
  • The suitably uplifting video features the two Surfaces guys with YouTuber Hannah Meloche.
  • It took Surfaces two hours to make the song, but only as the result of half a decade of work. Frank explained to Billboard: "The skill set was already there. We had laid the foundation of learning how to produce and learning how to songwrite, so it very quickly fit together. It was a very natural song to make."
  • John Travolta and his daughter, Ella Bleu, make a TikTok to this song in a Miracle-Gro commercial that aired during the 2021 Super Bowl. In the spot, Leslie David Baker (Stanley Hudson from The Office) tells them, "Hey Travoltas, don't be tickety tocking on my grass!"
