Songfacts®:

  • This song is a tribute to Col. Bruce Hampton, a doyen of the jam band scene in the southeastern United States and a huge influence on Tedeschi. Hampton led a band called Aquarium Rescue Unit, which included Jeff Sipe, who was playing in Tedeschi's band. Along with Jason Crosby and Ron Perry, they wrote this song for the Col.
  • Bruce Hampton returned the favor in 2007 with a tribute to Tedeschi called "Susan T."
