  • Temper City is an Israeli-American indie-rock trio formed in 2026, comprising vocalist Eytan Peled and production duo Chen (Hen) Kordova and Aviv Barenholtz. Before the band existed, all three members were working hitmakers behind the scenes for some of Israel's biggest pop stars. Having collectively written over 100 songs for other artists, they eventually decided they wanted something of their own - and Temper City was the result.
  • Eytan Peled was born in Boston and spent his childhood shuttling between the United States and Israel before settling in Ra'anana in seventh grade. He didn't pursue music seriously until after completing his mandatory Israeli army service.

"I started studying guitar when I was in second grade in Boston," he told The Times of Israel. "I remember Gary, my first guitar teacher, [teaching me] all the rock songs, but I was actually very shy when I was a kid. I mean, I always wrote songs. That's something also that I'd always do in my room, but I'd never show it to anybody. The whole switching gear to actually decide to pursue music and singing in front of people and showing my songs only happened pretty late."
  • Peled is one of a small number of Israeli pop artists who write and perform in three languages: English, Hebrew, and Arabic. He first learned Arabic in high school and refined it during his army service and while living in a northern Druze village. Peled believes "learning each other's language is the key to emotional connection and mutual understanding of perspective and culture."
  • Peled's solo debut, "Where Are the Days," went viral in Israel in 2020, racking up over a million YouTube views and a million streams on Spotify and Apple Music after being added to the prominent Galgalatz playlist. The success put him in demand as a songwriter for other Israeli artists and helped forge the connections that would eventually lead to Temper City.
  • Producers Chen Kordova and Aviv Barenholtz have been making music together since their early teens and were producing hits for other artists by the time they were 18, working under the name Sync Beats. The pair spent around five years commuting between Israel and Los Angeles, working with international acts including Fuerza Regida, Zeds Dead, Dimitri Vegas, and Flyana Boss. When they met Peled, the three clicked immediately, and the Temper City project was born shortly after.
  • Their debut single, "Self Aware," released in February 2026, introduced the project in emphatic fashion. The track shot to #1 on both TikTok's and Spotify's Global Viral 50 charts within weeks and charted internationally. Its sudden rise was so swift that it prompted online speculation that Temper City might be an AI-generated act. The band responded with interview footage from Israel confirming they are, in fact, entirely flesh and blood.
  • Temper City cite influences including Arctic Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots, The Neighbourhood, Radiohead, and Foster the People. The combination results in a sound that blends British-style lyrical cool with American alt-rock introspection and polished, atmospheric production. The deliberately transatlantic approach is fitting for a group whose members have spent years moving between continents.
