Songfacts®:

  • This song was written by Bill and Gloria Gaither, and based on the life of Cathedrals bass singer George Younce. Younce got away from his Christian roots while in the military, but eventually, he became stronger in his faith as he began singing in gospel quartets. The Gaithers were fans of The Cathedrals, and were inspired to write this after getting to know George Younce through his appearances on the Gaither Homecoming Series.
  • The Gaither Vocal Band recorded this for their 2000 album I Do Believe. >>
