This is the third track on American alternative rock band The Dead Weather's debut album, Horehound. The band consists of The Kills' Allison Mosshart on vocals, Queens Of The Stone Age multi-instrumentalist Dean Fertita taking care of guitar duties, The Raconteurs' Jack Lawrence on bass and White Stripes/ Raconteurs' Jack White thumping the drums.
On this track White joins Mosshart on vocals, where he swops his usual high pitched yelp for a deeper voice.
This was the lone track on Horehound that White wrote by himself.
"Lean On" was originally sent by Major Lazer to both Rihanna and Nicki Minaj's camps as a slower reggae track. After both parties rejected the tune, Major Lazer recruited Danish singer MØ to supply vocals and recorded it themselves.
The song "Sadeness" by Enigma (the one with the chanting monks), got its name from the French novelist Marquis de Sade, who believed sex had to be painful in order to be pleasurable - thus the word "sadism."
