  • A much more bombastic version was a #1 UK hit for the Bay City Rollers in 1975. This version was the top-selling single in the UK that year.

The Bay City Rollers did not know The Four Seasons' version. According to 1000 UK #1 Hits by Jon Kutner and Spencer Leigh, this song was in guitarist Stuart Wood's collection, but he had it by a British band called The Symbols.
  • This was the first hit single for the Rollers not written by Bill Martin and Phil Coulter. It was also the first single release on which they played the instruments themselves. Martin and Coulter had previously refused to allow them to play on their recordings.
  • This was featured in the movie Love Actually.
