Songfacts®:

  • This song can be found on the Jayhawks 2003 EP More Rain, a bonus CD that came with the initial release of Rainy Day Music. Speaking to us in a 2012 interview, guitarist Gary Louris, who was the band's principal songwriter at the time, said the song is "so applicable, line by line, to my life right now it's almost scary. It's almost like a precursor. Like you were foreseeing something in your life."
He added: "That's typically how I write. I write kind of back door. Try to turn off the conscious mind, and right in there there's this weird subconscious mind that flows through you that you tap into."
