Just Another Girl

Album: Direct Hits (2013)
Play Video

Songfacts®:

  • This is one of two new tracks that feature on Direct Hits, The Killers' first greatest hits compilation (the other one is "Shot At The Night").

The song is a collaboration between Stuart Price, who had previously worked with the band on their third studio album Day & Age, and frontman Brandon Flowers. Drummer Ronnie Vannucci, Jr. admitted to NME: "I don't feel like everybody put their prints on it. We're all playing on it, but we had to do things in stages. I cut those drums in Cincinnati then Stuart processed them. It's not what would happen normally."
  • The song's Warren Fu-directed music video finds Glee star Dianna Agron portraying Brandon Flowers, complete with the singer's signature jackets and "All These Things That I've Done" era mustache as the band's history is retraced through the lens of their past music videos. We also see Agron - who shot to fame playing Quinn Fabray on the hit Fox series - walk past the wedding scene in "When You Were Young" and hang out with a skeleton in homage to "Bones." Devon Aoki and Michael Steger who starred in the original "Bones" visual also reappear. Flowers does show up near the end of the clip, but only to applaud Agron's job well done.
