  • The Long Faces are an alternative/progressive rock band formed in 2017 in Canterbury, Kent, England, where the members met while still at secondary school. Their early connection came through classical ensembles and jazz groups.
  • The Long Faces combine elements of progressive rock, contemporary jazz, 1960s psychedelia, and choral music. "As individuals, we listen to and take influence from all sorts of different genres of music – electronic music, choral music, neo-soul, to name a few," they told Bring The Noise. "We don't always share common ground on this front, but there are some artists we have a mutual love for; bands like Steely Dan and Talking Heads are big influences, and we've always admired the more ambitious prog-rock groups – Gentle Giant springs to mind."
  • The band's earliest releases, "Cadence" (2017), "Sum of My Cares" (2018), and "Jane!" (2018), arrived while most members were still teenagers. After their debut EP, Documentaries, the band underwent a lineup change and a deliberate stylistic shift toward a darker, more cinematic sound with minimal production. Their 2023 single "Eisenhower" was billed as the opening statement of this new direction.
  • In early 2026, "Jane!" had a surge in popularity on TikTok. The sudden attention arrived after nearly three years of relative inactivity following "Eisenhower," introducing the band to a wider audience.

The viral moment was notable in part because The Long Faces had built much of their following without significant label backing or radio support, relying instead on organic discovery.
