Songfacts®:

  • This is a Surf Rock variation of the theme to The Outer Limits, which was a TV show similar to The Twilight Zone that ran from 1963-1965. Due to the creepy nature of the show and it's theme, this song became popular around Halloween as scary mood music. Elements of The Twilight Zone theme were also incorporated in the song. >>>

  • J from Toronto, CanadaIf memory serves me correctly, and often it doesn't, this tune was released as "Outer Limits" and had to be retitled because of legal problems. Although they had a hit with the tune, The Marketts were simply a studio group and didn't write the Batman theme, Neil Hefti did.
